A new office space with 1/2 bath and wet bar was needed in the third floor attic space of this Cary, NC home. In order to provide the owner with plenty of office and sitting area, a large dormer with a triple window unit was added by removing a big section of the rear roof of the house.
Here are a couple of pics of the dormer framing as viewed from the backyard:
Isonene spray foam insulation was used to seal the entire attic, which maximized the energy efficiency of not only the new 3rd floor space, but also helped with the conditioning of the existing second floor as well. Project completed in August of 2013.
